Weekly Sweets and Swirls Sep 29, 2021

Hello Friends!
We would like to start this week’s weekly prose(aka nonsense) by welcoming Stephanie back to our team full time.
(which moves me down one on the hierarchy totem pole and still just below the cat & dog.)
The Boss has got some Chicken Noodle Soup this week just in time for Cold & Flu season.
(Eewww, I am not sure I am supposed to say Cold & Flu season – I am not sure we have those anymore.)
Anyway, here we are in this our 81st week of a 3 week lockdown and we are inching towards getting back to normal as the lawn bowlers are back in action.
We have had many positive(and a few negative) comments about having to check in at the Community Centre front desk just to get to the Café.
Some feel safer.
Some find it an inconvenience.
Some have just become used to the rules changing every 3 weeks.
But no matter which way, I will reiterate… Please be nice to Julie …and don’t forget to call her Phyllis.
No matter your situation, you can still come in and pick up one of the Boss’s yummy offerings.
The Boss did convince us to go on a hike this past weekend starting at Queenston Heights.
Armed with way too much food, a backpack, and her sternest mom voice, the Boss led us on a quest to find and slay this Covid19 Coronavirus once and for all.
I fully expected to encounter a white vapor cloud hovering over a clearing with dramatic music and downed red shirt guys (Hey, I just realized I was imagining an old Star Trek episode), while the ghosts of Isaac Brock and Laura Secord were pointing out the best escape routes.
Oddly, in the middle of the mayhem, Miss Secord halted briefly to implore the General to sample some chocolate.
However, our band of muttering teenagers was not to be deterred, throwing rocks, dodging mud puddles, and petting puppies until we found a clearing to tackle the Boss’s lunches.
(I did get a condescending look for smuggling a Dr. Pepper to ration amongst the troops…moral you know.)
Alas, we did not find our enemy.
Too bad though because the Boss had fashioned somes bows and arrows out of sticks, some sling slots, and that Rambo spring loaded stick thing out of some branches.
We were ready…
…and then I woke up.
Oh well.
See you this week and Many Thanks!
James, Erinn, Liam, Sophie, Daphne, Stephanie, Isaac, and Laura.
PS
I am aware that 9 out of 10 Liams agree I have lost my mind.
